If you look closely you can see some texture to the wood on the island. The customer asked us to try something new-sand blasting the raw cherry and then staining it black. The stain stayed dark on the heavy grain and the brown color of the cherry came out on the softer grain. I think it turned out pretty good and the customer was extremely happy! (thank goodness!)

Laundry room

Opposite side of the laundry room, built in closets with bench.

Door to laundry room which we did not build but I thought it was pretty awesome! Pretty sure I'm going to need one!

More kitchen cabinets.

I'd have to say this is my favorite kitchen this year. I love cherry and this black island turned out so beautifully! Was a busy year but a very good one!
