Kitchen with black island

Black island

If you look closely you can see some texture to the wood on the island. The customer asked us to try something new-sand blasting the raw cherry and then staining it black. The stain stayed dark on the heavy grain and the brown color of the cherry came out on the softer grain. I think it turned out pretty good and the customer was extremely happy! (thank goodness!)

Laundry room

Opposite side of the laundry room, built in closets with bench.

Door to laundry room which we did not build but I thought it was pretty awesome! Pretty sure I'm going to need one!

More kitchen cabinets.

I'd have to say this is my favorite kitchen this year. I love cherry and this black island turned out so beautifully! Was a busy year but a very good one!

Courtneys Desk

Courtney snatched up this super cute desk that belonged to her husbands grandfather. It was pretty dirty and in rough shape from sitting in a corner forgotten after Dave's grandfather passed away. And I took forever getting it done for her, sorry Courts! But I finally got it refinished and Randy put it back together. I really think it turned out nice!

Quarter Sawn Oak Furniture

Randy took on a project much bigger then he normally does, furniture! He's done small pieces in the past but to say this was challenging would be an understatement! He was excited because it gave him an excuse to buy another tool, of course! A mortise and tenon machine. He did all the joints with this machine and everything turned out beautifully! I have to say my hubby is pretty talented! The wood is all quarter sawn oak with a custom matched stain. Hutch, dining table and 8 chairs, all Mission style furniture.
